Marketing has long had a reputation for manipulation, but ReAgency’s ‘Marketing for Good’ approach breaks that mold. We work to elevate brands that are striving to make a positive impact. Instead of pushing brands’ content with business as usual, we focus on supporting businesses, charities, and organizations that prioritize making a difference.
ReAgency stands apart from traditional marketing agencies by embedding ethics and sustainability into every aspect of our work. Our deep expertise in science, technology, and sustainable development combined with a passion for doing good allows us to specialize in promoting environmentally and socially conscious brands with the public good in mind.
We are equally committed to acting as a force for good within our own company. At ReAgency, we conduct business in a way that benefits our clients, our team, the society we are a part of, and the planet we all share. We have developed a set of policies that guide our business operations towards sustainability for people and the planet.
Sustainability as a fundamental value in our business. We commit to reducing our environmental impact in measurable ways each year, and assisting others in achieving the same goal. Our sustainability policy is built around four main pillars:
1. Evaluate
Assess our current operations to identify areas for change. This includes actually measuring our energy use and emissions, and considering the broader implications of our business activities.
2. Act
Take action to minimize our footprint, with priority areas of reducing emissions and reducing excess consumption.
3. Empower
Involve our team and partners by creating a culture of sustainability. We encourage participation in conservation projects and nature-positive activities that benefit both individual well-being and our company’s goals.
4. Inspire and Share
Communicate our sustainability journey transparently, sharing achievements and insights with clients, partners, and the public.
Climate change is the defining crisis of our times. It is clear that business as usual is not good enough. We all know we need to do more, but sometimes taking action can feel like a big step. At Reagency Lab, not only do we support our clients to improve their sustainability, we practice what we preach. We are leaders in finding creative, realistic, and sustainable solutions that any business can adopt. We are determined to become a climate positive organization, for the sake of our staff, clients, community and planet.
If you would like to use any (or all) of this sustainability policy in your own business, please go for it! We stand on the shoulders of giants, and have drawn from companies such as Atlassian, McKinsey, HBR, and Gold Standard. We support an open culture: let us know how we can support your sustainability journey.
ReAgency is committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have adopted SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. As such, our policies have a special emphasis on sustainable resource use.
ReAgency measures its energy use and emissions, and we report these transparently in a simple yearly report:
We follow guidance from Greenpeace to lower our impact on the planet:
1. AVOID unnecessary consumption, and therefore avoid emissions entirely where possible
2. REDUCE emissions if it can’t be avoided (for example, taking a bus instead of driving)
3. SUBSTITUTE: Switch to products with a smaller carbon footprint
4. OFFSET: For unavoidable emissions, offset the harm as much as possible in a transparent and meaningful way.
We have committed to several climate action goals including:
GOAL:
Reaching Net-Zero Scope 1 and 2 Emissions in our Business by 2028.
To do this, we will focus on:
SUBSTITUTE: Sourcing 100% of our electricity from renewable sources by 2028. For ReAgency, this means sourcing the energy for our computers, lighting, heating, and cooling from renewable sources.
AVOID/REDUCE: business travel: Our team travels for client meetings, conferences, and networking events. We will eliminate non-essential travel, prioritize low-emissions travel where travel cannot be avoided, and if we must fly or drive, buy sufficient carbon offsets from reputable sources that also support reforesting and biodiversity initiatives.
OFFSET business travel: If we must fly or drive, we will offset our estimated carbon emissions by investing in reputable reforestation projects. Reforesting rather than buying carbon offsets means we’re supporting rewilding and biodiversity initiatives whilst offsetting our unavoidable carbon emissions - double good!
SUBSTITUTE event travel: Encouraging active transport (walking/cycling/scootering) or public transport at on-the-ground client events. Where this is not viable, SUBSTITUTE by using electric vehicles over ICE vehicles.
GOAL:
Reaching Net-Zero Scope 3 Emissions by 2030.
Reaching net-zero Scope 3 emissions would eliminate the indirect emissions throughout ReAgency’s value chain, including from our external suppliers. To achieve this, we will focus on:
SUBSTITUTE digital infrastructure: Switching to website hosting, cloud storage, servers, and software providers that use 100% renewable electricity by 2028.
AVOID/REDUCE shipping and equipment: By 2025, if we must ship materials or equipment, we will choose suppliers that have committed to net-zero emissions.
SUBSTITUTE apparel: Sourcing all company/team t-shirts and other merch from sustainable brands by 2025.
We know that ‘net zero’ is not enough, and that any drive to be more environmentally sustainable must place nature at its core. We work to consider the needs and priorities of nature in our business decisions, ensuring our operations contribute to the overall health and resilience of the natural environment. We also work to encourage our team to build their own connection to nature, for the sake of their health, well-being and dedication to preserve our beautiful natural world.
As David Attenborough says: “No one will protect what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced.”
Whether it's taking meetings outside, organizing team retreats in nature, or team volunteering in conservation projects, we strive to foster a workplace culture that values and respects the natural world.

Not only do we conduct our own business in an environmentally responsible way, we challenge our clients to be more environmentally conscious too. That means not waiting for clients to ask for sustainability in their briefs, but pitching creative and innovative solutions which deliver for the environment and for their business.
As a geographically dispersed team, we make full use of video conferencing rather than relying on face-to-face meetings to drive our business forward. Whilst not emission-free, this allows us to reduce our environmental impact*. Our extensive network of local expertise enables us to keep long distance travel to a minimum. Air travel is the most carbon intensive way to get around, so each year we challenge ourselves to use fewer airmiles. We encourage the use of public transport and aim to have fewer journeys taken by private motor vehicles. We encourage walking and cycling as the means of travel with the best Planetary Health credentials.
* A study by the University of California, Berkley found that a one-hour video conference between 2 people using desktop computers can generate up to 270 grams of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), equivalent to a diesel car driving 1 mile (BEIS/Defra 2019).
At ReAgency, we know it's not only our choices that matter for the environment, it's also the choices of our partners and suppliers. That’s why we work to make every dollar we spend work for the environment.
Here’s some of the little things we are doing:
• SUBSTITUTE: Opting for plant-based catering menus for events and crew
• REDUCE: Reducing our e-waste
• SUBSTITUTE: Choosing deforestation-free paper
We’re constantly on the lookout for ways to support planet-friendly suppliers. If you’re a business supplier with a great track record on sustainability, please get in touch with us!
Where there are no sustainable options, we request better environmental practices from our existing suppliers to signal a demand for change. We request that our suppliers:
• Transparently disclose their sustainability and labor practices
• Addresses environmental impact
• Commit to ethical labor practices
• Commit to ethical sourcing
We put out money where our mouth is. As ‘1% for the Planet’ members, we commit to donating at least 1% of annual sales directly to environmental organizations.
ReAgency is a global organization with team members spread across five continents. We are dedicated to social and ecological justice and deeply respect the history, sovereignty, and environmental stewardship of Indigenous nations worldwide. We honor their Elders, past and present, and emerging.
We understand that Indigenous knowledge is deeply connected to both natural and cultural resources, and we believe it should be protected and respected. We're committed to working in good faith with Indigenous communities and their representatives, ensuring collaboration on projects that impact their lands, territories, or knowledge.
Our goal is to work as an ally to Indigenous communities as part of our mission to create a fairer and more sustainable world.
As a marketing agency, ReAgency works across a wide variety of industry sectors. We are not engaged in the production, manufacture or retail of physical goods and have no supply chains relating to these activities.
Like all modern companies, we rely on consumer technology, such as smartphones and laptops, to do our work. We acknowledge the huge environmental and social impact of electronics, including modern slavery, for example in the mining of cobalt for batteries. To reduce our demand for electronics, we encourage our team to retain or refurbish existing technology, or if that’s no longer viable, to buy second-hand.
We prefer purchasing electronics with a fairtrade or conflict-free certifications.
Inclusive and supportive teams do better. It’s science*.
At ReAgency, we’re eager to get our hands on the best talent, no matter your age, gender, disability status, sexual orientation, country of origin, or parental status. We go beyond our obligation to nondiscriminatory hiring practices to be proactively inclusive. We believe in going above and beyond to make all our team members feel supported in their work.
Here’s some of the little things we are doing:
• A team that is ‘majority minority’ (a majority of our team come from communities that are underrepresented)
• Truly flexible work hours
• Paid training to pursue professional interest
• Financial support to ‘work where you want’
• Transparent compensation (everyone’s compensation package is open to all employees).
* McKinsey's Diversity Wins report showed teams with greater gender and ethnic diversity outperformed their less diverse peers financially. Highly diverse companies are also more likely to have above-average profitability. But it’s not all about diversity: teams with “high psychological safety” are linked to better decision-making and increased innovation (HBR). Basically, diverse teams that feel supported are more likely to collaborate effectively and ultimately perform better. Diversity and inclusivity is not just good - it’s good for business.
ReAgency provides the following subsidized programs for everyone on our team:
• Electronics refurbishment subsidy (to encourage our team to use their existing equipment for longer)
• Paid time to volunteer in conservation projects
• Subsidies to offset the cost of Working Where You Want
• Reimbursement and paid time for professional development
ReAgency is committed to responsible governance as the foundation of our sustainability strategy. As a compact organization with robust systems in place, we are flexible and adaptive without compromising on quality. We prioritize transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in all our operations, ensuring that decision-making processes align with our sustainability goals.
We aim to foster a culture of integrity and inclusivity throughout our organization. To do this, our leadership and management team provides continual oversight and regular evaluation of our processes, aiming to mitigate risks and enhance positive impacts for our clients, our communities and the environment.
Our governance systems include strong financial management, an experienced and dedicated management team, robust quality control processes, internal transparency and accountability mechanisms and responsive grievance management.
